Zanger Aaron Stainthorpe heeft op de officiële Facebookpagina van het Britse doommetalicoon My Dying Bride gemeld dat het dertiende album helemaal klaar is. “Het heeft ons enige tijd gekost om het samen te stellen, maar het is voltooid nu”, doelt de frontman op het (dit keer gelukkig niet fatale) onheil dat zijn familie moest overwinnen tijdens het schrijf- en opnameproces. In september vorig jaar luchtte Aaron zijn hart daarover met een statement op de website, maar het voelt niet juist aan om dat verhaal opnieuw boven te halen.
Alleszins, de band is er zeer enthousiast over en meldt enkele opvallende vernieuwingen. “This album is a luxurious journey into a realm only My Dying Bride know how to create. It has the most lavish production of any of our past offerings and the sound is utterly stunning; aggressive, beautiful and layered with harmonic melancholy like never before. There is beauty here with slender moments of delicate hope enriched with violins and cello and the stunning voice of special guest Lindy-Fay Hella from Wardruna. And there is utter madness and anger with visceral death metal vocals lending a fearful edge to this dramatic opus. You will not be disappointed!!”
Nog belangrijk om weten is dat Jef Singer de studiodrummer is geweest deze keer. Momenteel ligt het in de handen van label Nuclear Blast Records wanneer het kleinood uitkomt. Een titel is evenmin bekend.
