Vader gebanned in Maleisie
Vader is één van de 228 bands die in Maleisie zijn gebanned. Dit heeft weer eens te maken met de extreme geloofsopvattingen daar. Op de website van Vader staat het volgende statement:
VADER is on the list of 228 metal bands banned in Islamic Malaysia. The National Fatwa Council issued the religious decree against the “black metal cult”, citing practices in which members stamp on the holy Koran, drink alcohol and freely engage in sex. Council chair Shukor Husin said the cult’s practices, based on US rock band Metallica which has used symbols including an inverted cross, went against the teachings of Islam and could propel a Muslim out of the religion. However he said, merely listening to heavy metal songs was not a crime.

Regain Records/Regain Entertainment has set a February 27 release date for the soundtrack to the slasher movie “Murder Island”. The movie’s synopsis follows: “It’s summer. A group of teenagers decide to go on a camping trip. They drive far up in the country until they find a small place were they rent canoe’s for a cheap price. The group paddle for a long time before they find the perfect island to set up camp on. They have sex, do drugs and drink alcohol. But the next morning they notice that one of them has disappeared. They split up to go looking for her, but that proves to have horrifying consequences…”
