Dio en Iommi schrijven nieuw Black Sabbath materiaal
Hoewel hij ooit beweerde nooit meer tot Black Sabbath toe te treden, is
Ronnie James Dio onlangs wel overgevlogen naar het Verenigd Koninkrijk,
waar hij thans met Tony Iommi werkt aan een aantal nieuwe Black
Sabbath nummers. De songs zijn bedoeld voor een te verschijnen box die
Black Sabbath – The Dio Years zal gaan heten. Naast de nieuwe nummers zal de
box de vier platen bevatten die Dio met Black Sabbath maakte (Heaven
and Hell, Mob Rules, Dehumanizer en Live Evil)
en dit in een geremasterde versie. Of dit nieuws de deur opent naar een nieuwe
plaat met Dio is maar de vraag. Feit is dat Ozzy al heeft
aangegeven geen nieuwe Black Sabbath Cd te willen maken. Wordt vervolgd?
Update: In tegenstelling tot wat uw redacteur dacht heeft Dio géén
plannen om terug bij Black Sabbath te komen. Dit staat op Dio’s webstek:
"Just to put the Black Sabbath reunion rumors to rest, here is the inside
scoop from Wendy Dio: Ronnie was in the UK to do promo for the new Holy Diver
Live CD and while there, dropped in on Tony Iommi to kick around some ideas for
the forthcoming box set, Black Sabbath: The Dio Years. We had previously
mentioned that the two would be writing together as their respective schedules
permitted.
There are NO plans for Ronnie to rejoin Black Sabbath, and in fact, DIO is
preparing for their European tour, which begins May 27 in Roselare, Belgium."
