Nieuwe vocalist Usurper
De death/thrash metalband Usurper uit Chicago heeft in Danny Lawson een nieuwe vocalist gevonden. Het commentaar van de band op hun eigen website luidt als volgt:
“Danny was the vocalist for the December 26 USURPER show at the Metro in Chicago, and simply his performance SLAYED! He was the perfect fit for USURPER and the chemistry on stage was that of a band who’s been together for over ten years, not of a band with a “replacement” vocalist. So after the extremely successful gig, USURPER asked Danny to join full-time.
Danny was the vocalist for Jon Necromancer’s first band Agnosia (from 1989-1992), he grew up down the street from Apocalyptic Warlord (drummer van Usurper, red.), and has been friends with the band for many years. His Metal influences and warped sense of humor is a perfect match with the rest of the band.
This is definitly a new begining for the band, yet nothing will change, only improve! The Metal is even stronger and harder than before, the line-up is stronger than ever, so now USURPER feels that it is time to improve all the other aspects of the band as well!”
Momenteel last de band even een korte pauze in, vanwege het verlaten van de oude oefenruimte en het beeindigen van de samenwerking met Midwest Metal Management. Gitarist Rick Scythe en drummer Joe “Apocalyptic” Warlord zijn bezig met het schrijven van nieuw materiaal in Joe’s kelder, en hopen in maart met de rest van de band in een nieuwe oefenruimte neer te strijken. Er zijn plannen voor een Amerikaanse en Europese tour in de komende zomer, en in januari 2005 moet het nieuwe album opgenomen kunnen worden.
