Het Duitse thrashmonster Destruction zonder de kleine gitarist Mike Sifringer, is dat mogelijk? Blijkbaar, want voorman Schmier heeft aangekondigd dat de man die als enige op alle uitgaves van de band was te horen, ontbreekt op het nieuwe album. Volgens Schmier heeft de gitarist zelf afstand genomen, heeft hij al een paar maanden niets laten horen en kwam hij dus ook niet opdagen voor de opnames. Destruction heeft nog niet definitief afstand genomen van Sifringer, maar zal dat later deze maand wél doen als de gitarist verstoppertje blijft spelen.

Over de reden van de afwezigheid van de 56-jarige Sifringer is Schmier even duidelijk als onduidelijk:
‘Some fans came to me and said over the last years, ‘What’s wrong with Mike? He looks unhealthy. I tried to communicate this with him, about his lifestyle. It’s always a lifestyle thing.
Some people like to live healthy, do sports, stay clean — no drugs, no alcohol, or have at least kind of a regulated life. And some other people like to… They don’t give a fuck about the way they treat their body. And it’s kind of obvious, if you look at Mike’s health the last years, he didn’t wanna change his lifestyle. Drinking and smoking and whatever comes in, when you get older, you’ve gotta change something.’
