Diablo Swing Orchestra werkt aan nieuwe plaat [update]

Het briljante avant-garde gezelschap Diablo Swing Orchestra zal in november de studio ingaan om enkele demo sessies op te nemen. De sessies zullen niet gerealest worden, maar het geeft wel aan dat de band nog op koers is voor de opvolger van The Butcher’s Ballroom, aldus Daniel Håkansson.
Verder meldt Håkansson dat er voortaan een blog zal worden bijgehouden over de shows van de band. Het verhaal van de Duitse shows kun je inmiddels hier lezen.

Goed nieuws voor de Belgische fans van Diablo Swing Orchestra! De band is namelijk, samen met Oceans of Sadness, bevestigd als headliner voor het Blikfest festival. Het is de eerste show in de Benelux voor de band, maar volgens frontman Daniel Håkansson lopen er gesprekken voor meerdere shows. We houden je op de hoogte.

Meer nieuws uit het Diablo Swing Orchestra kamp! Het debuutalbum van de band moet nog uitkomen maar nu al zijn de heren en dame bezig aan een opvolger!
Daniel Håkansson van Diablo Swing Orchestra meldt:
“We have about 7-8 new songs in various stages of completion and we are really happy with how the songs are sounding so far.
It’s always hard to say how they will turn out in the end but so far they can be described as more “detailed” in lack of a better word. All the ingrediences from the first album will still be present and some new ones such as gospel, tango and russian folk music will also make an apperance. Furthermore the arrangements will be more thought-through and we’re writing with a clearer idea how we can go about in the studio to make it as awesome as possible. ;D We also feel as the cello has really found it’s place through the more well-crafted arrangements and is really allowed to shine, so everybody can expect some really cool cello riffs. This time around we’ll also have the chance to play some of the songs live before we go into the studio and get them onto tape.
We only have rough working titles for 2 of the songs yet and they are “The vodka inferno” and “Stratosphere serenade”.
The plan is to start recording some demos in September – Oktober. When the actual recording sessions will start for the next record is not yet determined but we’re hoping for somewhere around april-may 2008. “

Het Zweedse avent-garde metal gezelschap Diablo Swing Orchestra heeft een recorddeal getekend bij Candlelight Records. Het label zal het debuutalbum The Butcher’s Ballroom op 13 augustus uitbrengen.
