Nieuw Slipknot-album in 2011 (update)
Corey Taylor, Slipknot-frontman, ontkent dat de band aan een nieuw album werkt. Taylor reageerde via zijn Twitterpagina op uitspraken van Jordison.
“Before anyone gets the wrong idea, let me be clear. I have NO PLANS to make a new Slipknot album any time soon. Shows? Maybe. Album? No. As for Joey’s comments, he took that on himself to say that in print. I can think of 5 people in this band who haven’t written/heard a thing.”

Drummer Joey Jordison heeft laten weten dat Slipknot gestart is met de werken voor wat uiteindelijk een nieuw studioalbum moet worden.
Jordison zegt: “It’s definitely exciting. It’s a little emotional, but I think it’s going to be really cool and I think it’s gonna be a really great record because everyone’s involved in the process. . . I think it’s gonna be a healing process for all of us. SLIPKNOT is not going anywhere. We’re a family, and losing a family member sucks. You can’t help that, but you need to move on.”
Slipknot zou trouwens geen plannen hebben om Paul Gray te vervangen en zal doorgaan als een octet. Jordison zei wel: “On stage, we’ll have a bass player that’s right next to me, to the right behind the stage, to lock in with me. But there’s no one right now who will go on stage.”
